RE: RIS/RIPREP Image problem with Dell Poweredge 2950 - W2k3 SP2

Hi Mike,

I'd like to provide you with the following information for your reference:
Reset permissions on all sub-keys within HKLM\Software and HKLM\System back
to the default settings:

Administrators = Full Control
Creator Owner = Full Control
System = Full Control
Users = Read
Power Users = Read

After the permissions are reset, perform another upgrade.

If the customer doesn't have a backup of the server, perform the following
steps from a parallel install or WinPE:

1. Run Regedit.exe and load the System hive.
2. Reset permissions on all sub-keys within the System hive back to the
default settings:

Administrators = Full Control
Creator Owner = Full Control
System = Full Control
Users = Read
Power Users = Read

3. Delete all RAID device instance listed under
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Enum\ACPI
4. Unload the System hive
5. Repeat steps 1, 2, and 4 for the Software hive
6. Restart the system back into the original install

Thanks & Regards,

Ken Zhao

| I am sure that it is not a permissions issue, even though from the error
| message it appears to be that.
