Re: Administration Tools Pack

is this the same for appliance edition?

do you just put the cd in, navigate to the adprep folder then click on
adprep.exe then run the admin tools?

I tried this but got the same error

I have not seen this error when installing just the admin tools but I guess
it makes sense.

Win 2K3 R2 is a 2 disk set. On a Win 2k domain, to move from Win 2k to Win
2k3 R2 you would have to run adprep from the first CD of the R2 set to
prepare the Win 2k schema for Win 2k3 and you would have to run adprep
from the second disk of the R2 set to prepare the schema for the R2
features.

If this were already a Win 2k3 domain you would only have to run adprep
from the second disk of the R2 set to prepare the Win 2k3 domain for the
R2 features.

Sounds like the same thing. Try running adprep from the second disk of the
R2 set on the schema master, then try to install the tools.

Hi all,

I am receiving an error: The version of Windows you have installed does
not
match the update you are trying to install. - each time I attempt to
install
the Administration Tools Pack (fsrmgmt.exe, pmcmgmt.exe) on Windows Serve
2003 R2 SP2.

I slipstreamed SP2 on to CD1 _and_ CD2 of Windows Server R2. I installed
it
ok and applied the second cd successfully however I cannot install the
tools
from the ADMIN folder of CD2. The tools downloaded from the MS site give
the
same error. Are there any workarounds to this?

Thanks,
Mike,
