Like I said, Vista 64bit runs in a VPC without any problem.
Do you know which vmware versions run on Vista 64bit?
Support for 64-bit host operating systems
This release of Virtual PC 2007 supports 64-bit host operating systems.
However, there is no support for 64-bit guest operating systems.

Hi,
When I install Windows Server 2008 Beta 3 64bit in a virtual machine
(Virtual PC 2007 64bit running on Vista Ultimate 64bit) I get the
following error:
Attempting to load a 64-bit application, however this CPU is not
compatible with 64-bit mode.
I tried also with VMWare Server, but that gave the same error.
Installing and running Vista 64-bit in a Virtual machine is no
problem.
Does anyone know how I can run this in a virtual machine? Or is this
not possible?
VPC and VS do not support 64bit client virtual machines at this
time. I believe VMWare does have a 64 bit supported configuration.
