Hello all!You should do the following:
I know this belongs in the SBS group, but nobody picked up on it over
there. I figured AD is pretty much the same anyway
Windows 2003SBS R2 installed with ISA (Multihomed)
When we use the "nltest /dsgetdc" on that server, it returns the correct
domain controller but it shows the wrong IP address. The IP address
indicated is the one for the outside NIC (public) IP . (see copy below)
The question is: Where is this setting stored, so that I could change it.
We do need to correct this to make the Global Catalog available.
Your input is greatly appreciated
Stefan
Edited screen shot form command: "nltest /dsgetdc:domain.local"
DC. . . . . . . . . . . : \\server.domain.local
Address . . . . . . . . : \\61.250.250.257 <- this is the
external address and should reflect the internal address(192.168.16.2).
Domain Guid . . . . . . : {920EAE98-DE5A-4741-8319-AD1A6DB8136E}
Domain Name . . . . . . : xyz.local
Forest Name . . . . . . : xyz.local
DC Site Name. . . . . . : Default-First-Site-Name
Our Site Name . . . . . : Default-First-Site-Name
Flags . . . . . . . . . : PDC emulator GC DS KDC TIMESERV
WRITABLE DNS_DC DNS_DOMAIN DNS_FOREST CLOSE_SITE 0x8
1. Erase all wrong name-to-IP resolution entries in your DNS.
2. Turn off registration in DNS for external NIC. To do this, you should
open properties of your external network connection, select "Internet
protocol TCP/IP", press "Properties", in opened windows press "Advanced"
button, select "DNS" tab, deselect "register this connection's addresses
in DNS" option.
Moreover, I recommend you to turn of NetBIOS on your external interface.
To do this select "WINS" tab in advanced properties of TCP/IP, in this
tab select "Disable NetBIOS over TCP/IP" option.
