I have two WinSvr2003* servers which have been in production for
several months, and as of Aug 24, 2006 began to log the Event described
in the Subject, (detail below).
An error occurred while the wizard was checking the current Windows
product license. Error Code: 8: 0x8007000e
One of the servers is an Exchange 2003 machine, and the other is a 2003
AD Domain Controller.
Both servers ARE Legit, COA's attached to Dell Hardware, and the
License Keys from the COA were used to build the machines with Dell
Server Assistant. Both appear to be working properly (for now) but I
would really like to get this one nipped in the bud). I have read
other posts, and checked various permissions on wpa.dbl (and created a
wpl.bak file) to no avail. I am also unsuccessful in manually running
Windows Validation Assistant at the MS Website, and receive error: You
are unable to run the Windows Validation Assistant.
(DARRELL, YOU OUT THERE?) :)
*Both Servers: Version 5.2 (Build 3790.srv03_sp1_qfe.050504-1722 :
Service Pack 1)
.
