Hello. I have 8 Server 2003 print servers and would like to know if
it is best practice to setup each server as a print server or just
allow one server to act as the print server?
How long is a piece of string? This would be a difficult question to
answer, not knowing your environment and needs, and whether you need
more load balancing than others do.
However, you could set them all up with the same shared printers
(use the printmig.exe wizard to export & import; it's a breeze) so
that if you have any problems with one server you can easily move
people to another (I use con2prt.exe in a batch file for this), if
you like.
Print Migrator 3.0:

Con2prt.exe (part of the NT 4.0 Zero Administration Kit):

There are other ways, but these have always worked for me.
