from my experience, running NT on an alpha system worked well. only problem
was lack of applications on that architecture
windows 2000 and later will not work on non-intel platforms

Hi Everyone, I have a dumb question to throw out. Is there an edition of
Windows Server 2003 that would run on the Alpha CPU architecture? I
remember
that there was an old NT4 edition that would run on it (not sure how
well),
but I think I remember hearing that was abandoned when Windows 2000 was
released. The reason I ask is because we have a fairly new Sub Blade 1000
server with an alpha CPU (at least that's what I think it has in it)
that's
not really doing much and I figured I can get better use of it as a
windows
box then loading linux on it and turning it into a utility server.
