Hello my apologies in advance if this a newbie question...
But I now have my ISP who has given me 1 static IP Address and 2 Static
DNS Server addresses... I want to host my own DNS Server on the same
server that is my PDC, And Exchange Server.
What do I do with the two DNS Servers addresses that I got from my ISP?
Where do I plug them in into windows DNS so I can run my own DNS?
What records must I make for my site? SOA? A Record? Etc...
My two DNS servers addresses are:
167.206.245.21
167.206.245.85
Again Sorry for this question, but any help or advice is greatly
appricated.
Thank you,
rob
Hi Rob,
Why do you want to host your own DNS? In that case your server will have
addtional workload. Anyway id you want to host it then your server IP will
be the DNS service IP. you can put ISP's DNS address as secondry and third
address. in the network card go to TCP/IP properties and go to DNS tab and
add the ISP DNS details over there. So when your DNS server cannot resolve
then it will go to those 2 DNS server IP address.
