DHCP Client Service - Access Denied
Tech-Archive recommends: Repair Windows Errors & Optimize Windows Performance
I have a windows 2000 native mode domain. I have run ADprep for the
forest and the domain. I have added a number of 2003 domain controllers
to the domain. These systems all have the issue of the DHCP Client
Service failing to start due to access denied.
A lot of searching has shown that the NT AUTHORITY\NetworkService
well-known security principle is not available in a 2000 native mode
domain even after an adprep. Since this account is what runs the
DHCPClient service it won't start. You can't add permissions because AD
doesn't know the account. I can't find a fix anywhere. Please help!!
