how to restore NT SAM DB

A client with single NT domain environment, only one PDC (with no
BDC), there is a recent ghost image and tape backups of the PDC,
hardware of PDC is crash could not be repaired, need to use another
computer to recover the domain authentication.
Is it possible to restore the NT SAM DB into another hardware?
What is the steps?
