Diskpart.exe / expand

Hello,
My problem is as follows:
I had a server that's come close to running out of diskspace. Two drives
mirrored for a total of 34GB.
Windows was installed on only 4GB. The rest of the space was unallocated.
The file system is NTFS.
In an attempt to utilize the rest of the disk space I ran:
diskpart.exe
list volume
expand
Now I get the message
Subsequently under Computer Management / Disk Management indicated
down in the bottom right graph type section Disk 0 Basic 34GB (Healthy)
However up above under volume / IBM_PRELOAD (C:) the file system NTFS Status
= Healthy / Capacity = 4GB / Free Space = 100MB
If I do a right click/properties on the C drive it indicates capacity 4GB /
available 100mb
In an attempt to correct the problem I rebooted. Same problem.
In an attempt to correct the problem I configured Disk 0 as a dynamic disk.
Rebooted. Same problem. Although now I have a dynamic disk volume.
In an attempt to correct the problem I attempted to use diskpart / expand
again.
This time I get an error message; failed to expand the volume...
Any idea on how I can resolve this problem.
Thanks in advance.
