MS recommends that you register your Active Directory domain solely to
prevent others from using it. It is not necessary that you use a registered
domain name - eg. firejack.com will work fine.

With a new forest/domain, you must configure your domain controller to
provide dynamic DNS, and it must point to itself for primary DNS. Also, all
computers which you join to this domain must point to the domain
controller's IP for primary DNS. The conventional way to provide Internet
name resolution is to configure Forwarders:

On the domain controller, go to Administative Tools/DNS. Right click on the
server and select Properties. Click the Forwarders tab and click the enable
forwarders box - if this is not available, delete the "." zone. Enter the
IP address of your ISP's DNS server and click Add.
