OK i tried my config stated at the bottom of the first post about localhost.

First off it doesnt like anything but FQDN for the smarthost, no IPs. so i
named it the FQDN for the machine its running on.

tested outgoing - failed
tested internal - failed

so i added a entry in the host file for the same name to localhost IP,
tested again, same results.

i put everything back so at least the client can send outbound mail

I am wondering if having the "domain.net" duplicated in both SMTP servers is
confusing it, but i will have to reload it to check that, any thoughts?
