That's the one feature that Netware users scream for when they migrate to
Windows. Unfortunately, Windows can't work like Netware did.

While you can create individual shares for each user, it soon becomes a huge
burden. If your clients use Windows 2000 or above, my preferred option is
    as follows:

Create a users folder and give authenticated users list permission on that
folder only. Share it with users:C permissions (you don't want your users
to be able to change permissions on their own home directories, so full
    control is not appropriate).

Create user home directories with appropriate permissions in here.

In a login script (preferably assigned with group policy, so save making a
setting individualy on each user account), use the following command:

    net use h: \\server\users\%username%

While you can assign home directories individually, it's easier to do it
with group policy, as it will make migrating from one server to another much
    easier.

I know this doesn't exactly mirror what you were used to with Novell, but if
you want to avoid inconveniencing your users by making them search through a
huge list, or inconveniencing yourself by setting properties on each user
account, I think the above is the way to go.

    Hope this helps

I am nearly finished with a migration from NetWare to Win2003 Server and I
have a hang-up with the my users home folders. I have mapped all users to a
folder shared as: HOME - and it has all of thier home folders inside of it.
Since half the users have 2 or 3 folders that they need to see, I'm not able
to use the drive mapping under "Profile" in A.D. (or am I?) I need a way
to hide all user's folders, and only display the folders that he/she has
rights to access. (so that the user doesn't have to scroll through 100
folders to get to the 2 or 3 they need)

    Any suggestions are greatly apprecited!
