That 16 MB FAT partition might be created for server diagnostic tools (I
used to work with some HP servers which were formatted this way).

Logically, everything should be fine. Please remember that converting to
dynamic disk is a one-way operation. It means that you cannot convert it
back to basic without loosing all the data.

I would suggest that you take a look at this article:
http://www.microsoft.com/windows2000/en/server/help/dm_upgrade.htm

It gives you quite a detailed information on dynamic disks.
