Yes we got the solution. I guess that it would not be helpful to you since
the issue seemed to be caused by a specifi .dll of the application. We got a
new dll from the vendor (down-graded) and once applied the problem has been
solved.

were you able to find a solution for this problem? I'm running into the same.
issue with a couple of scripts I have running in a server 2003.
Any help would really appreciated.

Hello everybody,
we're experiencing a locking-down problem on our Windows 2003 production
environment. We're running Windows 2003 Server Enterprise Edition (EN) on the
server, patched up to date with SP2 and all patches. So far after installing
SQL Server 2005 (ENT) and the application itself (it's a publishing
application) when running VB Scripts that access SQL and generates XML files
it returns a runtime error:

Description:
Application popup: Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library : Runtime Error!
Program:
This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way.
Please contact the application's support team for more information.

Actually even when installing IBM Director I got the same error. Every time
we start the script it hangs at some point and returns an undefined error in
Visual C++ Runtime Environment. We found a KB article (KB916177) and got the
patch either: doesn't apply since the system is post-SP2.
Anyone has a suggestion? I think I tried out everything, the only thing that
leaves in my mind is localization issue, but I'd rather would try to find a
different solution before trying to re-install ITA OS or i18n support.
TIA
