Getting the First and Last Name of a User in a Script

Hi, I need to be able to get the first and last name of a user account (in
AD) in a script to be used as a variable. if there are any other options on
how to get this property in a batch file - please let me know.

I am not great at VB but if anyone has any suggestions for using a VB and
can provide a sample it would be appreciated..
.
