Sounds like a slight inconsistancy in the MS implementation.

Can you connect to the same remote server under two differing
credentials, from the same session, both using FQDNs? It
could be that, by using two the two different stacks
(NetBT and straight IP) The OS is not reconciling credential
conflicts between stacks.
