The "Extension Attributes" map to "custom attributes" in exchange (5.5 or
2000), and shows up in one of the four Exchange-related account property
tabs in MMC. I do not recall if that tab shows up for exchange distribution
lists, but I am quite sure that it will not be present for security groups
not having an email address. I'd suggest you create some test groups of
different types and see if it shows up for any of them, i.e.:

 - a security group.
 - a distribution list.
 - a security group to which an email address has been added.

You might get what you need by converting your security groups to also be
distribution lists, however that may raise other incidental issues.
