Custom Attributes

We are working toward synchronizing Active Directory
Groups via LDAP to a document management product.

One of the changes we need to make is to modify the
attribute "ExtensionAttribute7=Value".

How is this attribute field accessed? Can this be done
manually through the AD interface, or is a script
required?
