Re: SBS 2008 DHCP ip assignment problem

Tech-Archive recommends: Repair Windows Errors & Optimize Windows Performance

Do you have any third party anti-malware software that might inadvertently
have a firewall component? I had a client that had installed the desktop
agent for Trend Micro on their SBS machine and it blocked a number of
important inbound ports due to it being a workstation component.

Typically in troubleshooting these types of issues, I disable all the
firewall functions to rule it out. From the start menu search, type
"firewall" and select "Windows Firewall with Advanced Security" or just run
"WF.msc". Then find the firewall properties, and turn it off for each network
profile. (Domain, private and public).

Sorry for the obvious, but: If no computer on the LAN is being assigned
an IP by the DHCP, the first thing I would check is if the DHCP service is
running.?
