Ok, this is simple folks - I have exactly the same problem - the registry
fix is great, but ONLY for "NEW" messages; i.e., if I'm in email and I
'create' a [new] message, the default is great - it defaults to the
mymailbox@xxxxxxxxxx as the place to send out the email, BUT
1) If I "reply" to ANY message - Exchange ALWAYS remains the default - and
this has nothing to do with "Primary SMTP Email" in the AD account,
either - this is directly in Outlook, when you look at the Account
drop-down, when you 'reply' to a message, it is forced to send 'replies'
via Exchange, as the primary - yes, you can 'select' the ISP mailbox to
send through, but there has GOT to be [default] fix that says, "Also make
'replies' default to going through the ISP mailbox."
2) Note also: This problem exists also when you hit "Forward" - so,
obviously Microsoft has overlooked the fact that "DEFAULT SENDING" means
also "reply" and "forward;" since their fix works ONLY for "newly created
messages" - and not for 'reply' or 'forward.'
Please assist, if anyone has a fix for this.

I saw Lanwench replied to your other identical post.
No, there is no fix for this. You can try to set it to your ISP's account
all day long, but Outlook will always revert to the Exchange address.
Remember, Outlook is optimized to use Exchange.
If you have multiple accounts (such as POP3 and IMAP4 accounts), in addition
to an Exchange server account, the Exchange account will always default. If
you have mulktiple non-Exchange accounts, then yes, it will stick to
whatever you set it to, but not with an Exchange account present. This is
default.
As for Egghead, and many other forums (Techarena, etc), I agree with
Lanwench. Directly posting to the Microsoft newsgroups is the best way.
After all, where do you think Egghead pulls/pushes posts? To the Microsoft
free, public, technical newsgroups. So why not simply post directly?
