Hi Ringo:
Did you go to the referenced page and verify that your WSUS is configured to the settings required?

Thanks guys. That will teach me not to do updates late in the evening. I had
a couple of quick ones to do and then the SP2 thing popped up and I didn't
want to stay up. I'll do it later this afternoon or tomorrow and post back.
Once again, appreciate your restraint. ;

Hi All,
I followed the instructions in this thread and all seemingly went
well. But when I go to the Server Management Console, and then select
Update Services, I get the following error message:
Windows Small Business Server (Windows SBS) Update Services is not
running because it automatically turns off if you customize Windows
Server Update Services (WSUS). For a list of specific settings that
cause Windows SBS Update Services to turn off, see the Microsoft Web
site. Even if WSUS is managing updates for your network, the accuracy
of the status in the Windows SBS monitoring report or on the Update
Services home page cannot be guaranteed. To use Windows SBS Update
Services, reverse the changes that you have made to WSUS or reinstall
Windows SBS 2003 R2.
Should I just now use Windows Server Update Services from the
Administrative Tools program menu, or is there something amiss?
Kindly let me know. Thanks!
Ringo
