Thanks again for all the information so far. I will update everyone once we
get the issue resolved.
Unfortunately, even though I'm knowledgable in certain areas and able to
research and get knowledge in other areas, my opinion doesn't always count
as much because I have no degrees to back it up. Years ago I applied for a
job at a new hotel opening in the area. I was sitting in their trailer with
a blonde woman also applying. I had on a nice shirt, tie, pants, etc. She
had on a skirt. You can see where this is going. They asked me some basic
interview questions about my skills.. I explained that I type over 80 words
per minute, can fix and repair computers, that I am familiar with all the
popular programs such as Outlook, Excel, Word, Access, and most every
version of Windows since 3.1. So, after the interview I went outside and I
heard him interviewing the blonde. He asked her if she knew what Windows was
and she openly said she didn't. I don't know if she got a job, but I did not
get call back.
I know I don't know as much as you guys, but I did go to school for
networking, so I could start working towards some kind of certificates.
Unfortunately, the school went bankrupt a month before I was due to
graduate, and I got stuck owing a bunch of money and it's on my credit
report now, and I have nothing to show for it!
What really sucks (not related to this DNS issue) is that we had problems
with our old web host. I design our websites, so if we're going to move to a
new web host then I think I should be the one to research and pick one. I've
been designing websites awhile, so I know some good ones that I've had no
problems with what so ever, and their pricing is very good. When switching
web hosts I specifically asked for a few features. One being the ability to
run Gallery 2, a free web-based graphic hosting thing, and whatever it needs
to run. Which would be a database and .htaccess.
I have none of those features! So, as a warning if anyone is reading this,
stay away from Yahoo! Small Business. We're stuck with them. They're
over-priced and under-featured. I can't run the program since they do not
allow you .htaccess and because I can't get our network consultant to enable
the database. They only used Yahoo! since our network consultant recommended
them. I said, I can get better service and features elsewhere for cheaper.
