Re: How do I fix OMA on SBS2003?

How old is the WM5 Device? Does it have the AKU2 update installed (required for Exchange push e-mail to work)?

Also, who is the service provider? Some of the earlier WM5 devices through Verizon & Sprint required you to run a special utility on the phone to install your self-signed cert successfully

spAddCert utility for Sprint devices:

spAddCert utility for Verizon devices:

As far as OMA is concerned - I would double check to make sure it is using the same ASP.NET version as the other apps in whatever IIS Application Pool it is using. A given IIS Application Pool can only run one version of ASP.net. So if you have different apps using different .net versions in a given Application Pool, whichever .net version gets initialized first in the app pool will be the version that is used (until the app pool is recycled). Apps using another version of .net will fail to initialize, and can generate some rather vague & obscure errors.

I'm not having success with a windows mobile 5 device to sync via activesync
over the internet to my SBS2003 Premium Server.
I created a self signed cert in CEICW and installed it on the device.
When trying to sync email via Activesync, I get the following error on the
device:
"Activesync encountered a problem on the server. sUPPORT CODE: 0X85010014."

The SBS server eventviewer had this error:

Event Source: Server ActiveSync
Event Category: None
Event ID: 3005
Description:
Unexpected Exchange mailbox Server error: Server: [SBSServer.domain.local]
User: [user@xxxxxxxxxx] HTTP status code: [501]. Verify that the Exchange
mailbox Server is working correctly.

Accessing the mailbox via OWA or normal Outlook client on a PC works 100%
fine, so I'm confident that the mailbox is in good shape.

During CEICW I enabled OWA, OMA, Outlook via Internet and RWW. All of these
services work fine except for OMA.
When I type http://servername/oma from PC on the LAN, or
https://domain.com/oma from the internet, I get presented with
username/password popup window. I then enter my credentials, but the next
page displays the following error: "A System error has occurred while
processing your request. Please try again. If the problem persists, contact
your administrator."

I have run the CEICW wizard several times, but does not seem to help.
My OMA is clearly not working. How do I fix it?
Please help.
Thanks in Advance.
