Re: RWW-RDP

Sorry for the delay. I tried to duplicate your instructions below. However,
there are a few things I feel like you should know about my environment.
- The AdTran router does not have addtional ports for addtional
workstations. It utilizes a cross-over cable between it and the SBS Server.
I used a simple hub to duplicate your suggestions below.
- Crossover cable into 5 port hub
- Ehternet from hub to server and from hub to workstation
- assigned IP addres to workstation with a gateway of 192.168.1.254
(Internal IP of AdTran device)
- I could not resolve the URL as I would normally type it in from a remote
workstation (using the associated A record), so I used
https://192.168.1.1/remote
- I was able to connect to all workstations on the network without issues.

Is this a valid test? If so, can we point to the AdTran as a source of the
problem?

To take the router out of the equation, since you have 2 NICs in the SBS
server, connect a non-domain laptop or spare workstation to a free port on
the router and give the workstation an IP address in the same range of the
LAN side of the router (192.168.1.x) and a Gateway of the router's LAN IP
(192.168.1.254). Now connect to RWW and see if you can access the client
workstation(s). If you can, then the source of the problem may be the
router configuration.

There is nothing that appears to relate to this issue. Is there anything
you
can recommend I try to capture any information about the issue? Maybe a
NetMon capture or tracert ---- if so, be specific about the data we are
looking for.

Please post the results of an ipconfig /all for the SBS server.

Hi all,
I am able to connect to RWW from an external node on the internet
with
URL
http://<A Record>/remote. I am able to select "Connect to Client
Computer"
and choose from a list of client workstations.

I select the client workstation and click the Connectbutton.

Result: blank page. After about 30 seconds I got the following
message:

"The client could not connect to the remote computer. Remote
connections
might not be enabled or the computer might be too busy to accept new
connections. It is also possible that network problems are
preventing
your
connection. Please try connecting again later. If the problem
continues
to
occur, contact your administrator."

This same scenario happens when I try to RDP into the server, as
well.
Same
error message.

- ISA is not installed
- Dual NIC setup
- Adtran Router is default gateway
- All necessary ports pointing to external IP of Server
- CEICW completed

This feature worked for nearly 2 years. Then we switched ISP's to
get
T1
speed. I believe this feature worked after the switch, but I cannot
be
sure.
I think it surfaced when we begin using AppRiver for spam
filtiering,
which
was about 2 weeks after the ISP switch.

I've tried everthing short of extensive NetMon tracing. All
suggestions
are
appreciated.
