Re: Public folder token problem?

Tech Tip: Click here to run a free scan for Windows Errors and optimize PC performance

Robbin,

Yes, I have a GoDaddy Turbo SSL for OWA and RPC over HTTP for Smartphones
many months ago. RWW, OWA, OMA, and RPC over HTTPS and all work fine.

Step 1: The "Default Website" has that GoDaddy certificate, but does NOT
have SSL checked on the top-level "Default Website."

Step 2: No difference.

Step 3: I had to go through step 3 to get it to work. I can now open the
public folder properties in ESM.

Why would this happen? What causes the setup to change?

Thank you for your help!

Gregg Hill

Hi Gregg,

Thanks for your posting here.

This issue may occur if the Public Folder related Exchange virtual
directory is not configured correctly. Please consider the following steps
to troubleshoot it:

Go to IIS Manager > Default Website

1. Please check if the default website is configured with a certificate
and is requiring SSL. If so, remove the SSL requirement.

2. Go to IIS Manager > Default Website > Exadmin properties > Directory
Security tab > SSL Encryption > Edit

a. Check Require SSL Encryption
b. Uncheck require 128-bit encryption
c. Uncheck require SSL Encryption
d. Check Accept Client Certificates
e. Restart World Wide Web Publishing Service and IIS Admin service.

3. If the issue persist, open Adsiedit.msc.

In the left side pane expand the Configuration container.
Next expand CN=Configuration Then CN=Services
CN=Microsoft Exchange
CN=<your organization name here>
CN=Administrative Groups
CN=First Administrative Group
CN=Servers
CN=Protocols
CN=HTTP
CN=1
Right Click on CN=Exadmin and choose Properties.
In the Properties dialog box > Attribute Editor Tab> Go through the
Attribute list and scroll down to the attribute "MsExchSecureBindings" and
double click on it.
If this attribute is set to :443 or any other value , click the :443 value
to select it and click the "Remove" button also remove it from the Add
Value: box. Then click "Apply" and
then "OK"
Close out of ADSI Edit, close and reopen Exchange System Manager and test
Public Folder access again.

Does the issue still occurs now?

Hope this helps. Also, if you have any questions or concerns, please do
not hesitate to let me know.

Best regards,
Robbin Meng(MSFT)
