I have a recently deployed SBS2008 server on HP GL380g5 Hardware.

Everything is running reasonably well with the exception of a few
minor e-mail issues being caused by Trend AV and now the system has
started having the most bizarre Internet problem.

Basically....Eveything is fine one minute and clients are then getting
a 'page cannot be displayed' the next. Some pages only half load, and
then an F5 refresh fixes the issue and the page loads. This problem
only started a few weeks ago, and I have searched these Groups, other
forums such as Petri. I have so far tried everything that I know to
have found to fix this and still it persists. I also get the following
occasional error when this happens;

System

- Provider

[ Name] srv

- EventID 2012

[ Qualifiers] 32768

Level 3

Task 0

Keywords 0x80000000000000

- TimeCreated

[ SystemTime] 2009-07-14T14:59:03.876Z

EventRecordID 5808

Channel System

Computer SBS2K8.OJK.local

Security

- EventData

\Device\LanmanServer

I have also as of last week switched my forwarders from my ISP
supplied ones (BeThere) to OpenDNS and created an account.

The issue appears to have started when the following updates where
applied to the system as well as an installation of Symantec Backup
Exec 12.5 (required for remote backup of SQL and some other open
software files)

I was aware that BE would try to use default port 3527 (i Think) but
after running a netstat it isn't using that port but beserver.exe is
using UDP Port 49382 which falls within the 'reserved DNS' range as
outlined on other posts.
Could this be the cause of my problem?

The Network appears to be operating fine, and running test on the NIC
seems fine too. The NIC reports that there are no dropped packets, but
the switch that it is connected to is reporting dropped TX packets on
that port only.
Surely this wouldn't effect access to the internet anyway would it? I
have removed the previously installed HP Management agents as they
where stopping BE from backing up to the monthly offsite tape drive.

Any help of advise would be greatly appreciated as although this is a
minor issue to some, I am getting it right in the neck from the users
and the senior managers.

Many Thanks folks for your help and advice in advance.

If anyone requires any additional info then please let me know.
