Re: Permissions problem

Where are these folders located? On the workstation, or server?

I have an SBS2003 Std with the following strange problem.

I have two user accounts and 2 computers. When I log into computer "A" with
one of the user accounts i am denied access to a server folder, and all of
it's subfolders. If I log into the other computer using the same user
account i am able to access the folders without any problem. If i use the
second user account profile, which is setup identically, on computer "A" I am
able to access the folder without any problem. I have removed all local
accounts on the computer, so there is only the domain account. I have reset
all the permissions to the folder.

This morning I created a new User using the Administrator template and I
have the same problem with the new user on computer "A". I am out of
troubleshooting here, does anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks

If the users have a domain user account, which i assume, because they use RDP to connect to the server, then open the folder properties where the data is stored, go to Security Tab and enable auditing on the folder, choose the user accounts or better create a group, move all user accounts to the group and add the group for auditing. ... using a DC for normal user logons as a Terminal server is a really bad decision from the point of security. ...
