Yep. That's default.

On the Permission Groups tab:

Unticked - Anonymous users
Ticked - Exchange users
Ticked - Exchange Servers
Ticked - Legacy Exchange Servers
Unticked - Partners

That's also a default.

What you want is the Network tab. I have only one E2007 server I support
thus far so I can't remember what the defaults *were* - I edited it to
include only the specific IPs I wanted to allow relay from. In my case, the
range .1 - .35 and the specific IP .60 as that's my scanner.

Could you please explain how I would make the Konica relay without
authentication, I am completely new to Exchange 2007 and it all looks
so completely different to Exchange 2003 that I need help
understanding how to do this without compromising security elsewhere
in the Exchange server.

Yes indeed. It is *very* different. Some of the changes are good, some
things are ...well, not so good. :-)

account she also has an additional POP3 account that she receives
and sends email on.

Ick. Time to get her off that. If this is a business account & it's
on a domain the company owns, host it in Exchange. If it isn't, set
up an autoreply on the ISP's server that tells the sender to email
her at the domain address. Or, have her access the POP account via
webmail or OE or something. Do not mix and match account types in
Outlook - it invariably causes problems down the line.

The email address is for a completely different
domain than the SBS domain. When I tried to set her mailbox for the
POP3 account up I used the POP3 server name for her external ISP and
her user name and password for that. I set the SMTP server to be the
Exchange Server. I didn't at first set it to require any user names
or passwords. When I test the settings it all works except for the
send and it asks me for a user name and password, if I put those in
for her using her email alias and her password it fails with the
error:

"Task 'Demon - Sending' reported error (0x800CCC78) : 'Unable to
send the message. Please verify the e-mail address in your account
properties. The server responded: " (The following characters are
some kind of binary symbols that I can't make out but no text that I
can read).

Well, that's some Outlook thing. You might post in m.p.outlook for
that.

2. Another similar issue occurs with our internal
Fax\Copier\Scanner\Printer. This is a Konica Minolta C353 which has
the option to scan a document and then email it to the individual
user on our network. Again since we have had SBS 2008 that function
fails with an authentication error.

I have set up "receive Connectors" for both the IP Address of the
user and the Konica scanner in the "Hub Transport" section under
"Server Configuration" but the errors still occur.

What's in the default receive connector? You should be able to allow
this IP to relay *without* authentication. You don't need multiple
connectors.


Any help appreciated as these are causing big issues for the
bsuiness!
