I'm late to this but we've installed Mozy on a couple of sbs 08 boxes and
mozy will crash the store when it starts it's backup. We use scheduled mozy
backups and pretty much like clockwork it will kill the store. Same results
on 3 diff servers. Maybe not conclusive but it definately happens. Mozy has
been of no help.

You're the first I've ever seen post regarding issues with it, which could indicate either
A) no one else is using it with SBS
OR
B) no one else is having issues with it.

Have you contacted Mozy...
Since the native SBS backup is working and not hanging your system, it sounds like the Mozy software.

So if you don't use Mozy and just use the SBS backup, everything is fine?

We have a new server with SBS 2008 installed. Everything was great until we
implemented backups. We were using Mozy to backup the system. After a
couple days, the system became unresponsive. Exchange services would
restart. This would happen every couple days. We would have to power down
the system.

We stopped doing the Mozy backup and are just doing SBS backup to an
external drive right now.

Has anyone else experienced this? What steps should we take now? I don't
want to just jump into another online backup if the same thing is going to
happen
.
