Re: SBS 2008 Teething issues:

In SBS 2008, you need to create the contacts for mail forwarding in Exchange Management Console (or the exchange powershell command line). NOT in Active Directory Users and Computers (ADUC). Then, again from within the Exchange console, set the forwarding address.

If you create the contacts in ADUC, they don't end up being mail-enabled. You can only do that from the Exchange console (or command line).

FWIW, I cover this, both from the GUI and the command line, in my SBS 2008 Administrator's Companion book. The key to keep in mind with SBS 2008 is that a lot of things that we're used to doing from Active Directory are now done from Exchange.

Hi Guy's hope you can help,

Now have SBS 08 on a Dell PowerEdge T610 following last weeks calamity
but am experiencing some beginner issues! I am so impressed with SBS 08
(but miss 2nd net interface) the install went so easy I couldn't believe
it!

My problem is access permissions, I need a shared directory for the
directors only, created this folder and a security group, changed share
and security permissions to the required group only but they cant access
it? The only way to get it to work is by allowing the "Everyone" group
which is bad in this case.

Thanks for any help :-)

Here is another, trying to set up mail forwarding, I know how to do this
but I cant add a contact forwarding address to specify under forwarding.
does anyone know how to do this now?

Thanks :-)
