RE: sbs2008 shared fax

Tech-Archive recommends: Fix windows errors by optimizing your registry

Hi David,

Thanks for your posting in SBS newsgroup.

Have you tried remove the current shared fax from the client and reinstall it? If not, I suggest you may logon the Windows XP client computer and
unassigned the Shared Fax Client in Printer and Faxes console and rerun the Add a printer wizard to reassign it again.

If the issue persists, please try to reinstall fax client on XP client via the following steps:

a. Open Control Panel and open Add or Remove Programs.
b. Click Add/Remove Windows Components.
c. Uncheck Fax Services and click Next.
d. Finish the process.
e. re-run the following command to install Shared Fax Client (for Windows XP only):

sysocmgr.exe /u:"\\%sbsserver%\clietnapps\faxxp\fax_inst.inf" /r /q /n /i:"\\%sbsserver%\clientapps\faxxp\fax_master.inf

Configure the Fax client component and send faxes on the server

Please have a try and see if the issue persists.
