Re: Reset User Password SBS 2003

Chris, The User Accounts are not held on the client PC's themselves. If I go
to Control Panel/User accounts there is an Administrator, user (e.g Fred
Bloggs) and a guest account (disabled).
The user (Fred Bloggs) is just the local machine windows user and not the
same as the network logon userbame.

This server was built for us and configured by a local PC store who have
gone bust, so I can't contact them for help.

As I said before the Server works well, it hots a database as well as our
Accounts package which are linked.

The only solution I can see is to set up another client on XP Pro and change
the passwords there.

If you go to the Server Management Console on the SBS Server, You should see a link there called Users...are the users listed there?

Hi Miles, Yes you have understood the problem correctly. Thanks for your
explanation, that seems to make sense.

1. I agree that I must change the password on the SBS server side I just
can't find the right place to change this.

2. I don't think the Exchange OWA method will work, although we are running
Outlook it is not using Microsoft exchange server, but MDaemon exchange
server .
