I guess you could call it mild paranoia. Boss just wants a fairly recent
copy of the backup file here at the main office since he does not get down
to the 2nd office often enough (because of the distance, 3+ hours away). If
someone decided to do something stupid, like erase files, or take an axe to
the server and the backup drive, or some other crazy scenario, we would have
something fairly current to fall back to. Not that anyone is really going
to do that, but he would just feel better about things if there were a copy
here.
I may use that syncback se program per Russ's suggestion and just pick some
of the important data to send up here, seems like a nice solution.
Thanks for the speed calc, I liked that alot! It showed me that 45 gb is a
crazy amount to want to transfer.

It is still not clear why you want the file to go to the remote location.
For data sharing? Maybe you could just send those that change?
In any case, verify your upload speed with your ISP, then look here:
http://www.dslzoneuk.net/calculator.php
In case your upload speed is greater than the chart, you can use the
download one, just don't tell anyone you used it in reverse.

backup file is no more than 45 gb, we have great speeds, optimum boost on
both ends,
boss man does not go to 2nd location often enough to do this with a usb
drive

Don't you just love bosses. How much data, system and user, are we
discussing here? (the size of the .bkf file) What is your upload speed
on your internet connection X 60% for latency? How long will that take?
Unless you have a very small system, I would consider cross shipping USB
external drives if the goal is truly to have a copy at the other office.
If the goal is simply to have one out of the office, put a USB drive in
the bosses briefcase for him to take home each day/week/month or however
often he chooses.

Hi,
We have 2 companies in different states, both SBS 2003, both backing up
with ntbackup nightly. I have been asked by the boss to copy one of
the backup files from office A to office B on occasion (maybe once a
week), and would like to do this automatically. Anyone have any
thoughts on how to accomplish this task?
I know I can use RWW and do it by dragging and dropping, then go home
for the night, and in the morning it would be done (I hope!), but
looking for something that would do it without my intervention.
Thanks
.
