Migrating Server to new controller

Tech-Archive recommends: Fix windows errors by optimizing your registry

With ntbackup out the window in Windows 2008 how can I install a new
controller without hosing the system? I'm going from a LSI SAS controller to
a 3ware SAS controller.

I'm doing full nightly backups with system states to a USB enclosure.

I'm thinking about this procedure now:
1. Install 3ware with drivers and application.
2. Reboot the server and run a full backup.
3. Shutdown the server and attach disks
4. Build three new disk arrays (C: RAID1 2x73GB), (D: RAID1 2x73GB) (E:
RAID10 4x146GB) and align the disks.
5. Boot off of Setup DVD and run a restore from that last backup done that
night.
6. ???
7. Profit.

Any other procedure that would reduce my setup time or actually work?
