Unexpected Server Shutdowns Following Installation of SP2?

Client has a retail store with an IBM x3400 running SBS Std 2003 SP1.
The server also runs StorageCraft ShadowProtect Server Edition v 3.3.0.16
Mon-Sat, with a weekly SB native backup on Saturdays 6pm.
Read all the docs, updated the BPA, updated the NIC drivers and installed
Server SP2 last Saturday afternoon.
All seemed to go well - rebooted server twice and reran BPA - no probs apart
from a warning re Exchange and Turf...
Sunday Morning - Oh Oh - we received an alert that the SC Saturday night
backup had failed - the logs revealed issues with the VSS service, Event IDs
1297, 1298,12289. Interestingly, the "normal" SBS backup run 2 hours
earlier, had completed successfully.
Then on Monday morning, found that we had not received a server report
email. Rang shop - found server crashed. Rebooted and remoted in, checked
logs. Found that it was trying to perform a SC backup when it crashed. Only
entry in the event log was "Server shutdown at 8.08pm Sunday was unexpected"
error 0xa000000. Then I tried to run a manual SC backup - started fine, but
the server froze with 1 minute to go... Rebooted again - SC logs not helpful
though I have opened a case with their support team and am awaiting their
comments.
The point of the story - it looks like something in SP2 has broken SC -
anyone else had this issue?
Also, I would like to examine a memory dump file to see if I have a driver
issue, but despite researching the docs and downloading the MS Debugging
tool, I'm not understanding what I'm doing!! Anyone have a newbies guide to
debugging memory dumps??
Thanks in Advance
Norm Hughes
