good morning
sorry for highjacking the post but this made think about something.
does this means that this scenario is compliant with licensing ??
NO (IMO),
Internet user authentication (Web) is covered differently and 'concurrent'
logons are not relevant.
scenario : SBS 2k3
we have ten user cals
let's suppose that i create 100 users. this is ok.
these extra user accounts belong to outside suppliers, that
authenticate against ldap on a web application.
the 10 existing cals enforce that at a given time, only 10 logins can
be active ?? ( thats my question ) and keeping the licensing
requirements.
thank you

Hi Jack,
Yes, you can create as many user accounts as you like (practically).
CALs are probably what you're thinking about but that's a separate
issue - they're either user (real person, not user account), or
device (chips). Neither user or device CALs are related to the
number of "user" accounts (or "computer" accounts, for that matter).
