i use the sbs backup/recovery utility for backup.
i do a daily system state and the default entry for exchange.
in addition i separately backup the exchange folders in program files,
inetpub, etc.
my question is: can i use these backups to restore/rebuild my current
server
configuration to a different machine. it will be different hardware but
i would duplicate my physical and logical disk drive configuration, but
not the same drive manufacturer.
if this is possible is there a check list somewhere of what needs to be
backed up and procedures how to 'rebuild' a server on new hardware.
