Re: Personal Admin Account Locked Out

First thing to do is on the PC that's causing the lockout (where you upgraded IE), go to CP -> Users. On the Advanced tab, clear out the stored passwords, or at least any that apply to your domain. Often this is caused by a password that has changed since you saved it, and whatever it applies to is trying for access with the expired password.

After that, check all the logs on server and workstation, including the security log, to see if you can find the cause. You might find something in the system or application logs if an app is failing due to the password issue.

Morning,

I am having a personal tragedy today that you all might be able to help me
with. I came into work today to find that my administrator account has been
locked out.... and im the only admin. Weird thing is I didnt see any symptoms
until I rebooted my computer during an IE8 update after which my outlook
creds stopped working.

When I go to the SBS under the Administrator account I can select my user
and go to properties -> Accounts and check the "Account is locked out"
button. When I apply the settings everything looks ok until I try to RDP into
something with my login and I get

" Unable to log you on because your account has been locked out, please
contact your administrator"

When I go back to the Account tab the box is re-checked. I looked at all the
other credentials admin as well as user accounts and this box is simply grey
for everyone but me....... I do have WSUS running and there are updates that
are in queue to install but thats about it.

Any help is greatly appreciated
