Re: 12 mailboxes is 25Gb MDB files - takes 10 hours to backup onto LTO2

Tech-Archive recommends: Repair Windows Errors & Optimize Windows Performance

Hardware Raid so SCSI card for tape and a Adaptec Raid card for HDD

It manages about 200Gb in 4-5 hours - the next 60Gb takes another 5 hours+
From what I can see its the Exchange mailboxes that takes the longest.
(I'm backing up both Mailboxes and First Storage group)

At that time of the day only the Backup is operating and perhaps one or two
users accessing emails remotly.

SCSI HDD's (RAID-1)
SCSI LTO2
4Gb RAM
Xeon DualCore 3.0Ghz (single CPU)

Using BackupExec 10

Is this Normal ???

I do about 140GB in 6 hours with SCSI and LTO-2 and that includes FULL
Verify.

I also have another server, 236GB, SCSI, LTO-2, and it does the same in
about 6 hours.

Both TBU Drives have dedicated SCSI controllers.
