Hello

I am running SBS 2003 SP2. The last few days Server Performance Report
email
has flagged the following under "Auto-started Services Not Running":

Service Name

RAID Storage Manager Agent

Total auto-started services not running: 1

In normal conditions, these services should be running. For details,
it is recommended that you review errors in the Event log related to the
service.

I have looked at the Event Logs for Application, Security, System and so
on
but cannot find any reference to RAID Storage Manager Agent.

Where would I find the relevant logs?

Any ideas what I could be looking for? I don't want my RAID to be
faulty....

Many thanks for any help

L

What RAID card are you using? What happens when you manually try to
restart the RAID Storage Manager Agent service?

Hello

It's an Adaptec RAID1 Disc device? The bios and RAID config both show it
working fine.

I manually start the RAID Storage Manager Agent service and it immediately
stops. I find nothing in any event logs - not even a notification - yet the
item is again appearing in the Server Performance Report. It started
appearing a couple of days ago. No administration or configuration had been
going on at the time....

Could be one of 50 Adaptec Raid adapters. Adaptec has support but you
need to start with the model of the adapter and a TSID that came with
the adapter.
