No no, the anonymous logon is not a AD user group as such and not something
you need to create. Its whats known as a 'special group' and can't be managed
in the same way normal groups are Other examples are "Creator Owner" and
"Everyone". If a user is connecting to a resource in certain ways they
automatically become a member of the appropriate 'special groups' - for
example every authenticated user who connects becomes part of the
"authenticated users" group, anyone who is connecting over he network becomes
part of the "Network" group. You wont see the groups in AD or on the local
users and groups snap-in on a workstation they are sort of in the
background!! If you add permissions to the printer (right
click>properties>security tab) add the "anonymous logon" and apply print
permissions any unauthenticated user will be able to use the printer.

printer that should sort it.

Hi,
We have a sbs 2003 server running. This is domain controller.
We have a XP machine that is a member of the domain.
A printer is connected to the XP machine, which is member of the domain(SBS
2003 server).
The printer is being shared. It works fine.
However, when I tries to connect to this printer from a computer that is NOT
member of the domain, it always asks a credential(a dialog box for username
and password). It makes sense because that computer is not member of the
domain.
Is there any way I can open up(share) the printer regardless of the member
or non-member of domain?
The thing that I want is that...basically,
ANY computer should be able to connect to the printer, and use WITHOUT
having to enter credential information...
I tried enable the Guest account, and give the permssion for printer.
No luck.
Thanks,
TJ
