RE: no read rights in sbs 2008

Hello Tony,

Thank you for posting here.

According to your description, I understand that:

You receive the error message "Authenticated Users' does not have 'Read'
permission of folder 'C:\Program Files\Microsoft\Exchange
Server\ClientAccess\OAB\936f2a92-1deb-4b36-89b2-9a8548587d8b" form the
Exchange BPA.

If I have misunderstood the problem, please don't hesitate to let me know.

Suggestions:
============================
The Offline Address Book (OAB) is a copy of an address book that has been
downloaded so that a Microsoft Office Outlook 2007 user can access the
information it contains while disconnected from the server. A virtual site
will be created in the IIS server pointing to this folder to publish the
web based address book. The Authenticated Users group should be granted the
READ permission to enable users to download the address book. To narrow
down the issue, you may double check the security permissions on the OAB
folder. To check it:

1. Locate the OAB folder in 'C:\Program Files\Microsoft\Exchange
Server\ClientAccess\OAB\.
2. Right click the 936f2a92-1deb-4b36-89b2-9a8548587d8b
folder--->Properties--->Security tab.
3. Verify whether the Authenticated Users has the READ permission (not
inherited from the OAB folder) on the folder. If not, you may manually
grant the Authenticated Users group READ permission applying to "This
folder, subfolders and files".

Moreover, I'd like to know whether the Outlook clients in the SBS domain
have the issues when they attempt to download Web Distribution enabled OAB.
Is there any error prompted?

Hope it helps. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not
hesitate to let me know.

Best regards,
Miles Li
