for DHCP on the router to be providing IPs to the workstations on the network this would have to be an invalid ISA config (or ISA is in single NIC 'proxy only' mode).

Give us the unedited output of 'ipconfig /all > C:\ipconfig.txt' from both the ISA (SBS) and one PC on the LAN.

Maybe try manually deleting the DHCP scope and then re-run CEICW.

Update...

I could not wait for a response so I decided to remove the old connector and rerun CEICW. It appears that mail is flowing now but I was still unable to enable DHCP on the server so I enabled it on the Router for now.

Any ideas on how to fix he DHCP are welcome.

Thanks!

Preface; SBS 2003 Standard with ISA and they did not have DHCP enabled on SBS box only on DSL modem.

A customer recently changed ISP's from DSL to Cable which caused us to remove the DSL modem/router and now are using a Linksys router with the cable modem. Before connecting the Linksys I duplicated the exact network addresses from the DSL modem to minimize confusion. Connected the linksys router and cable modem and ran the CEICW and everything appeared to work. However 2 issues came up. When I configured the router I did not enable DHCP because I wanted to enable this on SBS. While attempting to enable I receive a DHCP scope error message. How do I enable DHCP when I am getting this message? Do I need to enable DHCP on the SBS or should I just go and enable it on the router like they had with DSL and forget it?

The second issue that came up as a result of this change is that they are not receiving mail. I realized that I when I ran the CEICW the first time that I aside from changing the ISP's DNS I left all other settings as they were. Obviously there was an issue so I went back and ran the CEICW again and found that "internet mail" was not enabled. When I try to enable it I receive the following error...

"An existing SMTP connector was detected. This may conflict with the SmallBusiness SMTP Connector which will be created by this wizard. It is recommended that you delete existing connectors before continuing. For more information about removing connectors, see Exchange Server Help."

Keep in mind that this is a new client so I had no knowledge of what the last guy did but I looked and found the SMTP connector for their old DSL ISP. Is it ok to just go ahead and delete this connector as the wizard is stating? Will there be any problems with their existing mail boxes as a result?

Thanks in advance for any help!

Tim
