Re: Domain Admin Issue

Very Strange. I was able to resolve the issue by resetting the domain admin
password using the existing password.

Larry,

Thanks for the replying and sorry for the confusion.

I added a windows 2008 server yesterday to my 2003SBS domain. Afterwards I
could not log into the ws8 server with the domain administrator account. The
message I get is check the domain or username then enter your password again.
On the SBS server I was already logged in with the domain admin account and
created the account from there. Only then was I able to log in with a domain
account to the ws8 server. I worked remotely last night and couldnt log in
to the terminal server with the domain admin account either. I had to use
the account I created earlier in the day.

So to summarize, I can not log into any of my servers with the builtin
domain adminstrator account, but can with a user account promoted to domain
admin priviledges.

I hope this clarifies things.

Hi Doug:

I'm a bit confused.... first you say you cannot logon to any server, then
you say you created a user and setup DA level permissions and everything
seems OK.

Where/what is the problem now, and when it occurs, what error messages do
you see?

I have an existing domain running SBS 2003 SP1. I added a windows 2008 ent
SP1 server to the domain as a member server, now i can not log in with the
domain adminstrator account on any server. I created a user and setup DA
level permissions and everything seems to be OK. I searched the internet
but
didnt find much help. Any assistance would be appreciated.
