It sounds like you did a clean install on the SBS 2008 rather than a migration, since they are different domains.
If that's the case, they can sit there forever

I have my new SBS2008 64-Bit on the same LAN as my old SBS2003 system (different internal dns domains).

This is to migrate data etc. but one of my bespoke apps is not yet supported on 64Bit SBS2008.
Does anybody know how long the 2 SBS boxes can co-exist side by side ?
The bespoke app should be 64-bit ready in about 2-months.
