First, I would use a script and the devcon.exe tool to disconnect those
drives. I also would put the SBS backup on one of the harddrives and then
copy them with the same script to the USB drives. At the end of the copy you
can use devcon to remove the USB drive. This way the user can just unplug
the USB drive and replace it with the next one.
Second, it looks like you are interrupting something while manually
disconnecting. Do you have by any chance allocated Shadowcopy space on your
USB drives?
