Re: SBS 2008 migration from SBS 2003 - exchange email issues

Ok, that seems right, that the 64 ip is the isp.

Assuming the 216 ip is your public ip, and if the dyndns is setup properly, (and/or the ip has not changed, www.whatismyip.com ) and your router is forwarding port 25 to the ip of your SBS, then it would seem, however illogical, that the isp has started to block 25.

you can use the services of dyndns.com to change the port.....

http://www.dyndns.com/services/mailhop/relay.html

and you would have to set the router to forward the new port to the ip of your SBS as well as or instead of 25.

i am still mystified...
i am checking the incoming log on the router & i see ip addresses of
microsoft & google on the smtp port, but no entries from my isp (even tho i
did a couple of checkdns)

i think the 64... address is my ISP & public website, so it has a pop3 mail
service that i am not using, bacause i have defined an MX record to point to
my server, so it has a minimal response on port 25

Also, telnet to the 64 address on port 25 works, although the mail server
answers with only 220 Ready.
