What regedit is that? It already worked through Microsoft Update, is that not enough if WSUS is using the Microsoft Update server?
Thanks,

OH, and is the regedit still required for Exchange to do IMF updates through WSUS?
"Dave Nickason [SBS MVP]" <gwdibble@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> wrote in message news:etcr474aJHA.1528@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxYes, WSUS 3 lets you choose from around 10 classifications. (I sync everything except drivers). It's been quite a while since I upgraded to WSUS 3, so I can't really remember how it worked in version 2.
"RobW" <robwalker@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> wrote in message news:25CA588F-8F2D-49E4-9638-0599E21D35DC@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxThanks Dave. Does WSUS 3 give me the option to sync 'update rollups'? I see in WSUS 2 that the options are not that granular.
Thanks,
"Dave Nickason [SBS MVP]" <gwdibble@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> wrote in message news:e6xEuf4aJHA.2124@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxYou can download WSUS 3 with service pack 1 from http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=F87B4C5E-4161-48AF-9FF8-A96993C688DF&displaylang=en. That's the upgrade for the WSUS 2 that's included with R2. Please note that there's a link from this page to the white paper for installing on SBS 2003 - you'll definitely want to install this using the SBS-specific instructions. It's not a difficult install.
IMF updates are in the classification called "update rollups." As long as you're synching update rollups, you should be getting them. Last I knew, IMF updates are scheduled to be released on the first and third Wednesday of the month, although I don't think they stick firmly to that schedule.
In new installs, it's not uncommon to get updates for days in a row. For example, you install an SP one day, then the next day you get the updates that require that SP level as a prerequisite.
"RobW" <robwalker@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> wrote in message news:C443E31B-419F-44DA-B7F3-E736F30A51A9@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxI have a new SBS 2003 R2 network and have accepted the default settings for Windows Update Services in the SBS console. I have also done my first sync and all subsequent syncs are scheduled daily for 3:00 am.
Why are the IMF updates not being downloaded automatically? Being a new installtion, I continually get the yellow system tray icon that updates are available and to click 'here' to install updates. I have had to reboot the server 6 times in 24 hours since bringing it online, all as a result of Windows updates from WUS.
After IMF updates were not installed in almost two days, I went to the Microsoft Update site and manually downloaded and installed them. Is there not a way to configure update services to automatically download and install important updates?
Also, is there an new (replacement) update for Windows Update Service like Windows Server Update Services 2.0 with Service Pack 1? I did not see this in the list of updates available in Microsoft Update.
Thanks,
.
